This website contains a conceptual model that describes the important components of a successful team. To portray this model, each page consists of a new perspective on the model and how it is used in a team setting. This website and model was designed by an example of a successful team, including Hannah Menzel, Collin Roberts, and Kirsten Debroux.
Hannah Menzel:
My name is Hannah Menzel and I am a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee pursuing a degree in marketing and an entrepreneurship certificate. My strengths are in leadership, communication, time management and problem-solving. As a member of this group, I used each of these skills to contribute effectively to the team. With my knowledge in marketing and web design, I built the website for the project, and designed the final conceptual model. With this experience in creating the website, I then taught the rest of the group how to edit the website, so they could add to the overall design and written work of the website. Along with my knowledge in marketing, I also helped facilitate meetings and kept everyone accountable for their responsibilities within the team. I also initiated conversation outside of meetings to make sure that everyone was on task and making progress towards the finished project. On an individual level, I read multiple articles and summarized these articles to the group to aid us in finalizing our conceptual model. As the team got closer to the finished project, I focused on correcting grammar mistakes and making the website a cohesive final product.
Collin Roberts:
My name is Collin Roberts, and I am a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee pursuing a double major in Finance and Supply chain, as well as a certificate in Entrepreneurship. Throughout my career at UWM, I have been building up and applying my strengths of positive communication, business writing, creativity, attention to detail, innovation, and leadership. As a member of our group, I utilized these strengths to add value to our team’s output and overall success while working on our Digital Media Project Four. With my understanding of strong business writing, I made sure to look over my teams work to make sure the content was understandable and flowed impactfully as could be. I also made sure to offer advice or help my team members if they had any questions on how to formulate certain sentences or which words were best to use to present their thoughts in full. Throughout our team’s process of creating our end product, I made sure to use strong communication skills in order to help keep the group knowledge on what our tasks were, as well as working together to facilitate our weekly goals and inspire creativity within each other for a greater end product. I also made use of my attention to detail to make sure we met and surpassed each standard set in the directions for the Digital Media Project Four. I communicated these expectations to the group and shared when we needed to pivot what were doing from time to time when necessary. Working with my DMP4 group, I feel that we all contributed creativity by promoting positivity and openness to further the sharing of our ideas. The team also did a fantastic job of utilizing empowerment to stand up and be a leader when each member’s time came to add their value to the team.
Kirsten DeBroux:
My name is Kirsten DeBroux and I am a Junior Marketing and Supply Chain major at UW-Milwaukee. The skills that I brought to this project involve organization and communication. I tried to keep up good communication with my group by texting frequent updates or asking questions when I needed clarification. I like to make sure that the whole group is on the same page about what needs to be accomplished and about the quality of work that has already been completed, so I make sure to communicate with them about these things, especially when we are working on our own. Another aspect that I brought to the group was a separate opinion and experience. Because we have all had different life experiences, we were able to bring different personal applications to our conceptual model. I also was able to contribute by creating the word cloud for our conceptual model with some added related terms and ideas. All members of our group helped write the essay explaining our conceptual model because we all felt especially confident in a few of the concepts that we brought to the group through reading the teamwork articles.
